Kanye West's "George Bush doesn't care about black people" comment heard around the world is still a point of contention even five years after the incident. 'Ye's statement created debate among Americans, some praising him for his candidness, others berating him for it. This year, Kanye backed off of those words, even apologizing to the former president. However, Jay-Z recently told the Associated Press that he still supports 'Ye's statement.

Suge Knight Appeals The Thrown Out Case Against Kanye West

An ecstatic Nicki Minaj gives her take on "Pink Friday's" sales.

Though she didn't take the top spot in this week's album sales, Nicki Minaj is more than happy with the result.
"I feel this weird calm feeling," said Minaj to MTV News.
Pink Friday, the Young Money emcee's solo debut, moved 375,000 units - the most sold be a female Hip Hop artist since 1998's critically-acclaimed The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
"I'm just so grateful and kind of still in shock. These numbers haven't been put up since 1998," added Nicki. "It just makes me feel proud of my team, proud of my fans, everyone who has had something to do with my dreams. Finally, we are seeing this dream come to fruition. It feels incredible."
Minaj was bested by Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which sold 496,000 in its first week.

In an interview with Us Magazine legendary producer Quincy Jones brushed off a Kanye West comparison they made. After the interviewer said "Kanye West is similar to you in that he's the producer everybody wants to work with in the last decade...." before Quincy cut them off.
"How man? No way. Did he write for a symphony orchestra? Does he write for a jazz orchestra? Come on, man. He's just a rapper. There's no comparison. I'm not putting him down or making a judgement or anything, but we come from two different sides of the planet. I spent 28 years learning my first skill. I don't rap. It's not the same thing.

Kanye West’s Media Trainer Didn’t Quit, Says Kanye Rep

UPDATE:The New York Post’s Page Six gossip column reported that Kanye West’s newly hired media trainer Susie Arons quit after working with the rapper for less than a week following the big “Today Show incident.” But now a rep for Yeezy is saying that the report is a bunch of boloney and Arons is still on Kanye West’s payroll.
Initially, Page Six reported that Arons had advised West to not do the “Today” show interview, and the rapper allegedly ignored her advice and went through with it anyway. And after the big blow-out between Kanye and NBC following the interview, Arons, according to Page Six, was so fed up with Yeezy that she quit on the spot.
However, a spokesperson from camp Kanye is telling the press that the “malicious and clearly manufactured” story is 100% FALSE! Page Six says they stand by their original story.

Kanye West’s newly hired media trainer told him doing the “Today” show interview wasn’t a good idea….and apparently, the rapper didn’t listen to her and went through with it anyway, which has caused a lot of problems to date.
Kanye was invited to the “Today” show to respond to comments former President Bush made to Matt Lauer about the emcee calling him a racist back in 2005. So Monday (Nov 10) Kanye’s camp brought in Susie Arons, an executive VP at Rubenstein Communications, to help him handle the interview with Matt Lauer. Arons advised him to cancel the interview, and it was called off Monday night.

Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Tracklist Hits iTunes

UPDATE: Gil Scott Heron and Kanye West collaborate, as "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" gets some new information.

As his 35-minute short film, “Runaway,” premiered across all of MTV’s televised and Internet platforms over the weekend, Kanye West’s official tracklisting for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was also posted on iTunes. At least six of the tracks previously released as part of West’s G.O.O.D. Fridays preview made the album, including the debut single, “Power.” In addition to an uncensored version of the reportedly banned album cover, those who purchase the digital copies receive a digital booklet and the bonus track, “See Me Now.” The listing confirms months of speculation, although West announced earlier that 90 percent of the music from the album would be featured in “Runaway.” As previously reported, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be available in stores and digital formats on November 22.
