Rihanna Planning Homecoming Documentary

Rihanna’s “Loud” concert may be making it’s way to video. The singer is reportedly going to use footage from her very first performance back home in Barbados to create a documentary.
Her “Loud” tour stop hits home this Friday (August 5) and “aspects of the concert will be included in a video documentary which forms part of the $4 million deal reached between the Barbados Tourism Authority and Rihanna’s production company, RocNation,” explained the BTA chairman.

In advance of their collaborative album, Watch The Throne, Jay-Z and Kanye West have released a 10-minute documentary of their time spent recording the album.  The two artists pull off the rare feat of being ubiquitous yet extremely private, making this sneak peek into their world must see TV.

Drake Reveals Three Songs Off “Take Care” Album

Rollingstone was one of few that got the opportunity to preview Drake’s Take Care album. The Young Money MC reveals three songs that has been confirmed for the album. “Shot For Me”, “Free Spirit” with Rick Ross and “The Real Her” with Lil Wayne will be featured on Drake’s sophomore album. Take Care is scheduled to hit stores October 24.

Drake Cancels Show In Florida After Death Of His Uncle

Rapper/singer, Drake, unfortunately had to cancel one of his shows in Florida this week after the death of his uncle. Drake’s rep released a statement saying:
“We regret to announce that Drake will not be able to take the stage at Universal Orlando Resort due to a death in the family.  He hopes that his fans understand the situation he finds himself in and know that he fully intends to return to the area in the future. He thanks Universal Orlando Resort and his fans for their continued support.”
Very sorry to hear about Drake’s loss, he’s definitely in our prayers!

50 Cent: “Kelly Rowland Is The Most Underrated Female Soloist In The Game”

Looks like Kelly Rowland has a fan in 50 Cent. During an on set visit to Tony YaYo’s video shoot for “Haters,” 50 spoke to MTV News about some of his favorite songs of the moment, and listed Kelly’s hit single “Motivation” as one of them.
50 made the case for the former Destiny’s Child member by pointing out Kelly’s international appeal, and said that was part of the reason he cast her in his “Baby By Me” video.  He even goes on to say that Kelly’s dance moves and beauty are on par with reigning R&B champ, Queen Bey.

Game is currently prepping the release of his oft-delayed R.E.D. Album, but taking time out from promotion by dabbling in sports. The Compton, California native is serving as coach and player for Drew League’s Go Ham team, which also features Derrick Williams, Ron Artest and Kevin Durant.
“In the beginning I had to sell something like, ‘If you play on the team, I’ll go wherever you’re from and we can do a show or something,’ as a favor to him,” Game told Yahoo! Sports. “But now the word on the Drew League is everywhere, and guys are hitting me up to play.”

Lil Boosie Indicted On Charge Of Trying To Smuggle Codeine Into Prison

The incarcerated rapper has another charge on top of his first-degree murder charge.

Lil Boosie was indicted yesterday and accused of trying to smuggle codeine into a second state prison. According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, the 28-year-old tried to get the drugs into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

Nicki Minaj No Longer An Opening Act, Will Headline Own Tour

Nicki Minaj will be headlining her own tour come 2012. After taking back seat on Lil’ Wayne’s tour and serving as the opening act for Britney Spears, Nicki is ready to hit the road solo.

She told UsMagazine, “Next year, I’ll be headlining my own tour. So this is my time to be a student and to learn and to absorb all of this information and then take that knowledge and create an amazing Pink Friday tour at the top of 2012.”

And she’ll likely have some new material by then. “You’ll get another album within 12 months,” she told KIIS FM’s JoJo. “You’ll get the announcement for the next album in September.”

Drake Linked To $500,000 Scam

Drake have been linked to a $500,000 scam – well, his name has. Police in Toronto, Canada are searching for a man who scammed over $500,000 from a South African promoter, according to All Hip Hop.

The man, Andrew Wilson, was once associated with Drake when he was an up-and-coming artist, but they have since severed their relationship. However, Wilson still used old copies of a contract with Drake to convince the South African promoter that he was a legitimate business man.

The South African promoter ended up sending $500,000 to an account in Singapore which was then transferred to a bank in Lebanon and has not been able to be accounted for since.

They are still seeking Andrew Wilson, who is wanted for two counts of fraud.

As Billboard magazine honors music's top selling acts Sunday night, an absent Eminem ties Justin Bieber for the top honors.

Unless you’re counting host Ken Jeong’s decision to dress as Flavor Flav and then crawl under Nas’ legs, Eminem offered the biggest Hip Hop presence at Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards. It should be noted that Em didn’t actually attend the mostly Pop affair, which was dominated by the likes of Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Britney Spears.
