UPDATE #2: Rowdy-T accuses Yung Berg of telling the FBI about the robbery, and responds to Berg's "10 year-old charity case" comments.
It's no secret that many Hip Hop artists are fans of gaudy jewelry - look no further than Lil Jon's "Crunk Ain't Dead" chain, or Rick Ross' diamond-encrusted piece designed after his own face.Yung Berg is no exception, though he does have the dubious distinction of being one of said artists to have his chain stolen. In what appears to be a repeat of the 2008 incident where the rapper's Transformers chain was stolen by a group of men associated with
Detroit emcee Trick Trick, Yung Berg's bejeweled Batman chain was snatched by UK rapper Rowdy-T.
Rowdy appeared in a video (shown below) with the chain, proving that he had indeed relieved Yung Berg of the unmistakable piece. "I ain't never been a fan of Batman, but I been a fan..." said Rowdy-T, before cocking a gun on camera, "...of robbin'."
In the video, Rowdy-T goes into a freestyle and launches a series of insults at Berg.
"Come around me, I'll take your next shit!" added the rapper, before calling Yung Berg a "cupcake-ass bitch."
UPDATE: Speaking with TalkOfTheTown411.com's Lady T, Yung Berg explained that he sees the turn of events differently. "This Batman chain is not important to me. I got chains," said the onetime artist of DMX's Bloodline Records. "The biggest issue for me was that I gave away to charity, to a kid that loves Batman," said Yung Berg in a serious tone.
In the minute-long excerpt of the interview, the onetime Epic/Koch Records artist pointed back to his music career, away from his history with jewelry. "At the end of the day, it's all about the music to me." (October 3)
UPDATE #2: Yesterday, Rowdy-T released a new video, responding to Yung Berg's comments from a day earlier.
"I heard your little interview on the radio station today, which was ridiculous," addressed Rowdy. "You said that this chain was going to be given to a 10-year-old for charity case, that's the only reason you're pissed off about it."
Rowdy-T then accused Yung Berg of speaking to authorities about the incident. "I know you been on the phone, I know you told the FBI. They [contacted] my people and [started] harassing people," Rowdy said. "That's not how gangsters do business, tell the truth, man. Stop being on the bitch-ass level and come see me."
