The all-star line-up of actors and actresses of Tyler Perry’s newest film “For Colored Girls” are featured on the cover of the December 2010 (Special Edition) issue of ESSENCE Magazine.
The issue features 2 covers, with one showing the women (Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Janet Jackson, Tessa Thompson & Whoopi Goldberg) and the other showing the men (Richard Lawson, Hill Harper, Omari Hardwick, Khalil Kain & Michael Ealy).

Tyler Perry Makes History With “For Colored Girls” Casting

Tyler Perry took to his official website to write a message to his fans regarding his film adaptation of “For Colored Girls.”
He’s aware that there are non-believers – people that think he shouldn’t have touched the original play – but despite them, he’s got news that’s worth celebrating, news that matters whether the movie turns out good or not. Read his letter below:
“We are only a little more than 3 weeks out from FOR COLORED GIRLS, which opens on November 5th. Wow, time is flying! I wanted to talk to you for just a second about this film. There has been a lot of Internet chatter about me doing this film. I’ve heard everything from, “I’m glad he’s doing it!”, to “How dare he touch this!”. Believe me, I know that this is
