Nicki Minaj: “I’m very excited to be touring with Wayne!”

Nicki Minaj must be the happiest girl on the planet right now! Why, you ask? Well, she will be joining her Young Money boss, Lil Wayne, on his upcoming 2011 tour. That’s why.
This is a come up for the Pink Friday rapper compared to 2 years ago when she was on Wayne’s “I Am Music Tour” and didn’t even get to bat an eyelid before she was off stage.
In an interview with MTV News Minaj explained:

“Oh my God, I’m very excited to be touring with Wayne. The last time I toured with Wayne I was onstage for three minutes. Now I have my own set, I have my own lighting, my own costumes, my own dancers, my own everything. And this is what I’ve been praying for a very long time.”
So what does Weezy think of his bright pink star? Earlier this month he said:
“I can’t front, I just thought she was going to be the new female MC that none of these other female MCs can touch. But now, she’s blossomed into a megastar with this new attitude and this style. Now when I talk to her, I just tell her, ‘Do what you do, baby.’ I used to be able to go into the studio and say, ‘Nah, don’t say that, don’t say that.’ You know, ‘That was better.’ Now, do what you do, baby. I don’t have a clue about what you’re doing right now, but it’s working, do it.”
Fellow artists Travis Barker, Rick Ross and Mixmaster Mike will be joining Nicki and Wayne the 24-city tour, which opens next Friday night (Mar 18) in Buffalo, NY and will include stops in Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, D.C., Miami and more.

Lauryn Hill Announces 'Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series' Tour

Lauryn Hill Announces 'Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series' Tour
Lauryn Hill reveals new tour dates as part of "Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series."
Although rapper/singer Lauryn Hill’s recent tour was met with much criticism the former Fugees member has just announced the Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series, a series of new tour dates. The tour is expected to make stops in 12 different cities including Atlanta, Miami, Portland, Denver, New Orleans, and more.
"One of the benefits of playing venues smaller than the ones I'm used to allows me the opportunity to not only reconnect with my supporters but to expose them to a portion of the musical journey I've been on which the world for the most part has not had access to,” said Lauryn Hill in a statement. “I've never shied away from being musically adventurous, nor am I known for being a lightweight when it comes to lyrical content or musical exploration.”
Hill also referred to criticism of her recent shows, which she both appeared late to and performed never before heard remixes of her songs, as “amusing.”
“These more intimate playdates afford me the time to perform for listeners who haven't heard from me over the past several years or have been misinformed by the inaccuracies in some media coverage, many of which I might add, I find very amusing,” Hill explained. “Getting back out there to perform is a lot like resuming a strenuous sport after having been away from it for a while, but eventually the muscle-memory kicks in and each day brings progressive strength.”
