Why Did Prince Shut Eric Benet Out Of Essence’s Pre-Grammy Party?

Diddy wasn’t the only one who got dissed by Prince at Essence’s Black Women In Music party last week in Los Angeles. Eric Benet, best known as Halle Berry’s ex-husband, found his invitation to the event revoked after Prince was named as a special guest at the event.
But why?
Organizers of the event say it’s because Benet recently announced his engagement to Manuela Testolini, who just so happens to be Prince’s ex-wife.  Prince and Testolini were married in 2001.  She filed for divorce in 2006.
