As Ja Rule tells followers on Twitter that he'll be the latest sequel-maker, an error in his presentencing report buys him a few more weeks of freedom.
Queens, New York rapper Ja Rule has several projects in the works. In addition to The Renaissance Project, which is said to be Rule's first album in seven years, the rapper, presently in court, revealed this morning that he is planning a sequel to 2001's Pain Is Love.Via Twitter, Ja Rule revealed that Pain Is Love 2 is among his future plans. Rule will make the album with longtime Murder Inc. producer 7 Aurelius, known for playing instruments on hits such as "Always On Time" and "Foolish" in the early '00s. The original Pain Is Love was a #1 debut album, Rule's third, and featured Ashanti, Missy Elliott and Charli Baltimore.
Others Queens acts to have made a sequel-minded album include Nas with Stillmatic and Capone-N-Noreaga with The War Report 2.
UPDATE (2/9): The New York Post reports Ja Rule’s sentencing hearing has been rescheduled for March 9 after an error in his presentencing report held up a hearing scheduled for Wednesday morning. Ja was scheduled to find out when his two-year sentence for weapons possession would begin at a hearing in an Manhattan courtroom today.
