It appears that the team across the water didn’t want to be completely left out with Carmelo Anthony being traded to The New York Knicks. The New Jersey Nets have obtained All-Star point guard Deron Williams in a trade with the Utah Jazz. According to ESPN, The Nets will send Derrick Favors and Devin Harris to Utah for Williams. The Jazz will also get two first-round draft picks from the Nets, according to multiple media reports.
Williams, who is currently averaging 21 points and 9.7 assists this season, caught some flack when longtime Jazz coach Jerry Sloan retired after a heated argument with Williams.
“Maybe arguing was the last straw, so there I am, guilty of that,” Williams said of the incident. “But I think anybody who believes I could force coach Sloan to resign is crazy. He’s stronger than that and personally if I said that to him, he’d probably go tell me to go do something.”
