With a series of Twitter messages sent Friday, Wale hinted at a possible signing with Rick Ross and his Maybach Music imprint. Wale’s debut, Attention Deficit, was released on Allido and distributed through Interscope; he’s also co-managed by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Rick Ross, who was also signed to Def Jam by Jay-Z who was the label’s president at the time, recently spoke on the potential partnership with The Source magazine.“I’m talking to Wale,” Ross confirmed. “Wale is a hustler. I feel he’s one record away from being the next nigga,” Ross added. “He’s just a naturally fly nigga. Slick talking nigga. That’s right up my alley. I just think that camaraderie, riding with Rozay, it’ll mean that much more. I feel he’s one record away.”

The Maybach Music roster currently includes Triple C’s—Young Breed and Gunplay—as well as Cash Chris. Ross added that he’s hoping to expand the roster by signing Meek Millz and Reggae artist Jah Cure to the roster as well.
