Drake Sued By Playboy

Lil Wayne isn't the only one in the Young Money camp with legal troubles, as Drake is now being sued by Playboy Enterprises.
According to misstilaomg.com, the suit accuses Drake, Cash Money, and Universal of Copyright Infringement. Specifically, the song sampled at the beginning of Drake's hit song, "Best I Ever Had," is allegedly property of Playboy Music, Inc. and Playboy Enterprises.
The song in question is "Fallin' In Love," by Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison/Reynolds.

Game Speaks On Possible G-Unit Reunion

In an interview with StreetzOnFire, filmed during BET Awards weekend, rapper The Game clarified recent statements he made in regards to a possible G-Unit reunion.
Game explained that he wouldn’t be opposed to a reunion and that money is a key motivator.
“I was just letting the homie know that it’s 2010,” said Game. “It’s a new day and it’s really time to get money you know what I’m saying…So all I’m saying is why not get out here wing it like Voltron and shit. Bring it back full circle and make some mother fuckin’ money. So what I was saying was I wasn’t opposed to it.”

For most songwriters in the early stages of their careers, the idea of being hired as a staff songwriter for a publishing company is close to the Holy Grail. It represents that coveted prize of industry recognition and validation of your talent along with a gateway to cuts, movie placements and number of other exciting possibilities. Well, not officially, but today new music from both Andre 3000 and Big Boi surfaced on the net. 3 Stacks dropped his cover of the Beatles' "All Together Now," which in typical 3000 fashion is funky as hell. For many years, one of the biggest questions looming in the music world has been, "Where is Lauryn Hill?" After creating critically acclaimed work as a member of the Fugees and as a successful solo artist, she stopped releasing music. Lil Boosie Indicted For Murder

 Lil Boosie has been indicted for first degree murder.
The rapper, born Torrance Hatch, was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury Thursday (June 17) evening for his alleged role in the October 2009 shooting of Terry Boyd.
Boosie, who is currently incarcerated at the Dixon Correctional Institute, faces the death penalty, according to a district attorney.

Bow Wow Sued For Missed Show, Russell Simmons & Naomi Campbell, Tupac

(AllHipHop News) Bow Wow is being taken to court over two missed shows in May and September of 2009.  According to a lawsuit filed in Easter District Court of Missouri , Brad Gould/Macsimus Entertainment claims that Bow Wow took $50,000 to appear at a concert in May of 2009 at the Saint Charles Family Arena. The rapper, born Gregory Shad Moss, missed the first date and promised a make-up date, to be held at Rotary Park in September of 2009 to benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Youth in Need, The Rotary Club and other local charitable organizations. According to the lawsuit, Gould, he shelled out another $43,000 promoting the new “Back to School Jam,” which Bow Wow also skipped. The lawsuit seeks the return of the $50,000 and another $43,000 for fees spent promoting the second date.

Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 6/20/2010

As many experts predicted, Drake is the latest Rap artist to achieve a #1 debut. The Young Money/Cash Money rapper's "official" first album, Thank Me Later edged out Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' latest by a margin of over 320,000 units. The Toronto born rapper's album was just over 50,000 short of a gold debut, as predicted by HitsDailyDouble.com. Thank Me Later features appearances by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, T.I. and Young Jeezy. The bulk of the album's production is handled by Drake's longtime producer Boi-1da, who may get back-to-back #1's, with next week's Eminem Recovery album.

Cindy Bressler says she provided "extraordinary services" for Carey's three Jack Russell terriers Cha-Cha, Dolomite and JJ. Over the course of about a month, Carey ran up a bill of about $37,800, and has paid only $8200.

Nas Behind On Payments for Kelis' Mortgage

When it comes to finances, Nas can't quite seem to catch a break. News broke that Queensbridge legend is $52,989.22 behind on mortgage payments for the house of ex-wife Kelis.
Now, in a payment plan etched out by his lawyer, Nas will be paying $17,500 up front for the remiss mortgage payments and double payments of $7,800 each month in order to catch up. TMZ.com also leaked reports that the house will be sold once the mortgage payments are complete.
The report also indicates that Nas still owes close to $300,000 in spousal support to Kelis.

Two Chicago Teens Stripped Naked And Shot Dead

One of the most horrible stories to come out of Chicago's south side happened this morning when Chicago detectives found the bodies of two kidnapped teens.
Detectives found the bodies of 17-year-old Dante Coleman and 17-year-old Ibitoye Olayinka, the two teens were kidnapped Sunday night and their bodies were found today stripped naked on rail road tracks shot execution style. Chicago Police News Affairs office says both had been shot multiple times in the head and back.
Our hearts go out to the families of these two young men who lost their lives to senseless violence, Chicago is in deep crisis and the numerous stories coming out of the Chi gets worse with every day.
