Update: Halle Berry Turns Down Aretha Role With Suspicious Reason

Halle Berry will not be playing Aretha Franklin in the singer’s upcoming biopic, contrary to circulating rumors. However, her reasoning sounds a little suspicious.
Before the Golden Globes telecast, Halle told host Ryan Seacrest, “If I could carry a tune, I’d consider it. Someone should tell Aretha that I can’t do her justice.”
However, Halle has played both Dorothy Dandrige and Zola Taylor (of the Platters) in previous films, so we have proof that she can either sing or at least lip sync. Why not do the same for Aretha?
Some have suggested that she wouldn’t want to gain the necessary weight. What do you think? SOURCE
