Trey Songz Will Take On Leatherface In Reboot Of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” In 3D

Since the 1974 Tobe Hooper original, we’ve seen two sequels, a remake, and a prequel of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Apparently that wasn’t enough, as this week we learned that another film is being developed; this one is described as a “reimagining,” which will be shot in 3D.  R&B crooner Trey Songz will be making his big screen acting debut starring, playing one of the lead male roles – the boyfriend of one of the female leads played by Alexandra Daddario.
John Luessenhop (Takers) is directing for Lionsgate, who plan to release the film on October 5, 2012, close to Halloween.
Shooting begins this month in Shreveport, Louisiana. Producers are hoping to not only reboot the franchise but to also break a group of fresh-faced actors, like Mr Songz.
That’s right folks, Leatherface is coming back, and in 3D.
Let’s just hope that Trey’s character makes it alive all the way to the end and doesn’t succumb to the “brotha rule” of horror movies.
