IRS Files Tax Lien Against Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland is the latest celebrity to be hit with a tax lien by the IRS! The Detroit News is reporting the IRS filed a $98,634 lien against the ex-Destiny’s Child singer on Nov. 8 with the New York City Register.
Rowland, 29, rose to fame in the girl group, which broke through with the 1999 hit tune “Bills, Bills, Bills.” After the group broke up, she released a few solo albums and maintains an acting career that included portraying Motown legend (and ex-Detroit Councilwoman/tax delinquent) Martha Reeves in a 2003 episode of the TV show “American Dreams.”

Nov. 22-28: Lil' Kim And Nicki Minaj Feud Escalates

After months of attacking Nicki Minaj in the press, veteran female rapper Lil' Kim has finally conveyed her animosity toward the newcomer in a new diss track called "Black Friday." Cleverly named after and released on the biggest retail shopping day of the year, "Black Friday" is also a play on the title of Nicki's "Pink Friday" debut.
Lil' Kim accuses Nicki of adopting her persona. On the track that borrows the music bed from Pharoahe Monch's "Simon Says," Kim raps, "You a Lil' Kim wannabe/You just hate to admit it."
The former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant refers to Nicki and her manager Sean "Diddy" Combs, ironically Kim's old business partner, as "swagger jackers."
"I've seen them come/I've seen them go/Still I remain Sweetie/You going on your 14th minute of fame," she adds in the song.

Willie Nelson Busted for Pot

Music legend Willie Nelson was arrested this morning for allegedly possessing six ounces of marijuana.

 Nelson was busted at 9:00 AM at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, TX. Nelson was in his tour bus, traveling from California to Austin, when he was detained.

He was booked into the Hudspeth County Jail on a $2,500 bond and posted shortly thereafter.

George Lopez’ Wife Ann Files for Divorce

After being married for 17 years, George Lopez and his wife are getting a divorce! According to TMZ, Ann Lopez filed legal documents yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court.
In the divorce petition, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the break-up. Ann, who donated her Kidney to Lopez in 2005, is also asking for spousal support and primary physical custody of their 14-year old daughter.

Sample Documentary "Copyright Criminals" Will Air On PBS Next Week

Titled Copyright Criminals, the documentary features over a dozen interviews with some of Hip Hop’s most recognizable figures, including Pete Rock, El-P, Chuck D of Public Enemy, De La Soul, and Bobbito Garcia.

The-Dream and Christina Milian Agree To $4 Million Divorce Settlement

In less than six months, the celebrity married couple went from separation to a divorce.

Hit-making singer, producer and songwriter The-Dream and estranged singer/actress wife Christina Milian have reportedly agreed to a divorce settlement. The Chicago Sun Times has reported that the couple agreed to close to a $4 million divorce settlement, with the Def Jam Records star paying Milian an additional $5,000 per month.
This occurred quickly after the couple was reported to be separated this summer, after The-Dream was seen in Hawaii with another woman said to be his assistant. The couple had one daughter.
Earlier this year, The-Dream released his latest album, Love King.

Penguin Group to release Jay-Z biography written by Forbes' Zack O'Malley Greenburg next year.

Only days after the release of Jay-Z and writer Dream Hampton’s Decoded publishing company Penguin Group has announced that they will be releasing a biography of their own on the famed rapper.

XXLMag.com reports that the biography, which will be titled Empire State Of Mind: How Jay-Z Went From Street Corner To Corner Office, will be released early next year.

Empire State Of Mind will include interviews from Damon Dash, Fred “Fab 5 Freddy” Brathwaite, Questlove, and more; the book was written by Forbes magazine’s Zack O’Malley Greenburg.

Drugs Found In DMX's Possession At Time Of Last Week's Arrest

UPDATE: Oxycontin and cocaine were allegedly led to DMX's probation violation last week. The rapper is expected in court tomorrow. After expressing hopes of “staying under the radar” before a show in Scottsdale, Arizona last week, DMX found himself arrested in Maricopa County for the sixth time. Fox affiliate, KSAX, reports that officers arrested DMX—real name Earl Simmons—at his home after he failed to check in with his probation officer. “I know if I was to get caught driving without a license or something, it would be on the news instantly and I would be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” X said last week. “I say I’ve been given a lot of unfair treatment. But I’m not gonna let that dictate where I go or what I do. If I like a place, I’m gonna stay there.”

It's a "Hell of A Life" when you have one of the biggest albums of the year available for digital download for $3.99.

In one of the biggest first-day sales of 2010, Def Jam Records has partnered with Amazon.com to release Kanye West's fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy for a $3.99 digital download. It is unclear how long this sale price will last, but the seller giant has done previous digital sales with releases from Common and Soulja Boy.
Also released in CD and Deluxe CD edition (with the Runaway short film as a bonus disc), the critically-acclaimed album releases today, with appearances by Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, and Nicki Minaj, who also released Pink Friday today.

John Forte to Pen Book About Arrest

Former Fugees affiliate John Forte plans to write memoir about his 2000 arrest for possession of cocaine.

In a recent interview with MTV's Mixtape Daily, singer/songwriter and former Fugees affiliate John Forte announced that he will be writing a book for Simon and Schuster about his infamous arrest in 2000 after he was caught with $1.4 million worth of cocaine in a suitcase in an airport. In 2008, President George W. Bush pardoned Forte while he was serving a 14-year prison sentence for the arrest.

R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn and Baltimore emcee LOS have announced their plans to release a collaborative album, 2 Dope Boyz & A Beat. The Jive Records artist known for his work with UGK, De La Soul and Wale announced these plans on Twitter, just more than a week after LOS released his tape, Shooter.
"So me and @SwaggaBoyLOS bout to do a whole joint together when u download his new Digital Mixtape (Shooter) u will overstand why!” DeVaughn wrote earlier this month on Twitter. DeVaughn also has a rapper, Phil Ade, signed to his 368 Music label.

Waka Flocka Flame is reaching near-MF DOOM levels of achievement when it comes to not attending shows, according to recent reports.
The young rapper apparently failed to preform at a charity concert in Melbourne, Florida due to a dispute with the event's promoters.
Waka Flocka reportedly refused to perform at Levelz nightclub's charity event "Hip Hop For Hunger" when promoters failed to hand over $10,000 in cash. According to the event's promoter, Christopher Duncan, there was nothing in the contract that required him to pay the money in cash, and  he intends to file suit against the rapper to retrieve the deposit. The rapper's booking agents were sued, again, just two months ago for similar issues.

Canadian rapper DY, real name Forrest Schab, has been reported missing by his family.

"We haven't heard from Forrest since August. We are extremely worried about him. If anyone has information of his whereabouts, please help us by contacting the Toronto police department," said the Schab family said in a statement , according to cbc.ca.
