Eminem's Legacy

With Eminem's Recovery spending an impressive fifth week on top of the charts, G-Unit members Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo lauded the Detroit emcee for his impressive achievement.
"Congratulations, man," said Lloyd Banks to MTV News. "Damn! I don't even know what else to say. I know he's happy and I'm happy for him. It's big. He might do six weeks or seven weeks [at #1]."
Banks explained the nature of Eminem's popularity. "Em has a cult following and they ain't gonna turn their backs on him. He's gonna shine on the darkest day. I think he wasn't never afraid to bring people into his life..He brings you into his life. You know about his wife, his kids, his best friend. On that last album, he touched on a lot of those topics and other personal things he had going on, too. A lot of people can relate to it. I feel like his music is getting more and more powerful. The messages are bigger."

Wyclef Jean Considering Presidential Run In Haiti

Throughout his career Wyclef has worked on raising awareness of various issues in Haiti. He became one of Haiti's strongest supporters following the earthquake that struck the country earlier this year.
While Wyclef did recently share with CNN that he has filled out all the paperwork required to enter the presidential race, a statement made by Yele Haiti revealed that Wyclef has yet to make a decision on whether or not he will run.

Rap Retirement Plans

 Rap Retirement Plans
One writer looks at the hypocrisy and impulse rappers use to wave retirement. Does it say something about them, or about the yearning for appreciation that 2010 Hip Hop yields?
In both life and career, we all want to script our ending; to walk away with that great proclamation - that statement that proudly tells the world why we matter. Some choose to quit, to walk away looking back occasionally to make sure they're being watched. Some write their last words and take their lives into their own hands tragically. There is a trail of aftermath on both paths. The slow walk away seldom brings tears and pleas to come back, but that trip into the horizon brings emotions of anger and resentment of such a selfish act. “Walk with your eyes forward,” my grandmother always said. Our Hip Hop artists have their heads on a swivel – every ounce of their self-worth is seemingly based upon who's looking, watching, reading and sometimes even listening. Sadly, today's rapper will quit just to feel loved.

We just keep it private and we do our thing and just have fun with it.”
