50 Cent Launches G Note Records, Hot Rod Flagship Artist50 Cent launches a new label, and Hot Rod will serve as its first signee.
With the public departure of The Game and Young Buck, 50 Cent and G-Unit have kept things relatively minimal with regard to expansion in recent years.
Now, 50 Cent has taken a step back towards being proactive, announcing the development of a new subsidiary label, G Note Records.
The label's flagship artist will be Hot Rod, a rapper who was signed to G-Unit in 2006. "@officialhotrod is the first artist of G NOTE he gonna do his numbers watch," tweeted 50 Cent (@50Cent).
The Arizona rapper's style, which in 2006 was more in line with G-Unit's at the time, is now more dance-pop now. His lead single, "Dance With Me," is on iTunes.
